TENUTA CASTELBUONO – TENUTE LUNELLI – UMBRIA – ITALY

Strengthened by the winemaking experience of three generations, the Lunelli family chooses to fully cultivate the passion for winemaking excellence by combining the successes achieved with Ferrari Trentodoc bubbles with a collection of high quality still wines, expression of three wineries in as many regions companies: Tenuta Margon in Trentino, Tenuta Podernovo in Tuscany and Tenuta Castelbuono in Umbria.

The project began in the eighties, with the creation of wines in Trentino that capitalize on the experience gained over years and years of mountain viticulture with Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Starting from the 2000s, the attention is paid to territories with a consolidated vocation. for the production of great red wines. Conquered by the charm of the Tuscan coast, and in particular by the vineyard hill on which the ancient Casale Podernovo stands, the Lunellis set off on their Tuscan adventure by taking over forty hectares in the municipality of Terricciola.

In 2001, on the other hand, it was the turn of an ancient and mystical land like Umbria and a wine of great power and longevity such as Sagrantino: the lands in Bevagna and Montefalco, partly already planted, were acquired, where years later the Carapace will rise, the sculpture cellar by Arnaldo Pomodoro.
