CANTINE BENVENUTO – CALABRIA – ITALY

“The history of the company begins under the fire of passion, the passion for my origins that, from Abruzzo, led me to Francavilla Angitola and that for wine. A combination, the one between this charming village, known as the town del Drago, and wine which, if still ignored or not valued by some today, was actually already praised by ancient writers such as the Barrio, Marafioti and Fra Leandro Alberti who praised the perfection of the wine produced in this same area as early as 1500 . And it is precisely here that I wanted to start my dream and the realization of a project: to produce good wine respecting Nature. Not only a visceral link with my origins, but a real reference to the winemaking tradition of this strip of land, a place suspended between the sea and the sky and where the sun gently caresses the vineyards that slope towards the blue of the sea in natural terraces. A perfect microclimate where the vitis vinifera, introduced since 2000 a.c., has found its natural place of production: a rocky soil together with saline winds and long sun exposure determine a unique, mild and temperate microclimate, giving life to a balance that allows for a complete and homogeneous ripening of the grapes “.
