Pianoalto 2018 – Bava

Pianoalto 2018 - Bava
Written by Piero Pardini

Wine: Pianoalto
Variety composition: 100% Barbera.
Denomination: Nizza D.O.C.G..
Alcoholic strength: 14% vol.
Vintage: 2023.
Serving temperature: 16° – 18° C.

Tasting Notes
Limpid, with a bright intense red color with purple textures.
The complex olfactory bouquet opens with floral scents reminiscent of a potpourri of red flowers, fruity notes of hard cherry in alcohol, blackcurrant pulp and dried plum. The taste is completed by hints of licorice root, sweet tobacco and a note of spicy spices.
The sip is velvety, with a well-polished tannin. The balance between the various components is harmonious, supported by a persistent aftertaste of precious woods and a nuance of ground black pepper.
