ERSTE+NEUE is one of the historic wineries in South Tyrol. The company, founded in 1986, from the union of “Erste Kellerei” (1900) and “Neue Kellerei” (1925), which was followed by the merger with “Cantina Kaltern“, has a centuries-old tradition but has been able to evolve in time, using modern technologies and aiming, increasingly, at sustainability in harmony with nature. After all, making wine in South Tyrol means indulging in uncontaminated nature that dominates with its imposing mountains, steep slopes and terraces.
This attention to the environment allowed the company, in 2018, to obtain the FAIR’N GREEN seal for sustainable viticulture.

Variety composition: 100% Schiava.
Alcoholic strength: 12.5% vol.
Vintage: 2020.
Classification: Alto Adige DOC.
Soil: sand, pebbles and silt.
Training system: Pergola.
Yield per hectare: 80 Hl / Ha
Vinification: fermentation in steel containers.
Aging: partial in concrete and large oak barrels.
Serving temperature: 12° – 14° C.

The sample is clear, of a not particularly bright ruby red, with very light orange textures.
Soft floral notes on the nose, followed by hints of small dark berries reminiscent of black currant and blackberry, closing with a slight hint of bitter almond.
In the mouth the taste is pleasant, low in alcohol, medium-bodied. Soft tannin, not very persistent.
The wine is ready, still not perfectly balanced, a greater refinement in the bottle will allow a good balance between the hard and soft parts. Sample to be tasted with unprocessed dishes. Ideal for a platter of fresh cold cuts.
