Bodegas Leda – Masaveu

Written by Piero Pardini

BODEGAS LEDA MASAVEU – CASTILLA Y LEÓN – SPAIN

The Masaveu cellars bring together five companies: Bodegas Murua S.A.; Bodegas Fillaboa S.A.; Bodegas Leda Viñas Viejas; S.L., Bodegas Pagos de Araiz S.A.; and Pomaradas y Llagares de Sariego, SL. Each winery is located in different areas of Spain, therefore with very different soils and characteristics.

The wines produced by Masaveu Bodegas all have a distinct personality that reflects the territory and the company philosophy: certified quality, respect for the land, sustainability. The strength of the company is being “wine artisans” and making small productions (Murua 250,000; Fillaboa 200,000; Valverán 16,000; Pagos de Araiz 400,000 bottles and Leda 80,000). This is because the company believes in the control of production processes to ensure the best final result.

Bodega Leda tells the story of the vineyard, the land, the commitment of the winemakers to care for centuries-old vineyards in the Duero Valley, the search for authenticity, the selection of the richest soils.

Leda is the result of centuries-old vineyards, selected in three of the regions with the most history and tradition of the Iberian Peninsula: D.O. Bullas, D.O. Ribera de Duero and D.O. Cigale.
