Variety composition: 50% Sangiovese 50% Cabernet Sauvignon.
Alcoholic strength: 13.5% vol.
Vintage: 2016
Classification: Tuscany I.G.T.
Area of origin of the grapes:
Location “Caparzo”, altitude 220 meters, north area: 8 hectares. Soil: Pliocene, sedimentary, sandy-clayey formation.
Location “San Piero” – Caselle, altitude 250 meters, east area: 2 hectares. Soil: sandy clayey.
Harvest: manual.
Alcoholic fermentation: separated for the different grapes with a duration of 6 days at 28 ° -30 ° C followed by delestage and pumping over.
Malolactic fermentation: spontaneous.
Aging in wood: part of the aging is carried out in wood.
Aging potential: 13 years.
First year of production: 1982.
Serving temperature: 18 ° C, we recommend opening the sample 1-2 hours before serving.

Tasting notes
Sample with an intense ruby red color, almost impenetrable, with a good consistency.
The nose opens with hints of slightly withered flowers reminiscent of hyacinth, iris and lavender. Aromas of ripe berries, a note of ripe blackberry stands out, almost jam, enveloping that remains pleasantly, and then leaves, in the finish, the place for hints of licorice and sweet spices.
The sip is important, with a velvety and well-polished tannin. Elegant, with good persistence, the sample is balanced in its parts. The scent of ripe fruit and a slight balsamic note in the finish remain on the palate.
It is recommended with a porcini mushroom risotto.
