VIGNAMAGGIO – TUSCANY – ITALY

When the history of a company joins the history of its people, it becomes a fundamental part of the chronicles of that territory. It happens for Vignamaggio, a historic Tuscan winery and olive grove, whose history dates back to the time when Guelphs and Ghibellines fought over Tuscany.

Vignamaggio became the historical seat of the Gherardini family who, expelled from Florence in 1280, settled in the homonymous valley in 1302. There, the Gherardini, in a house surrounded by generous nature, started the cultivation of vineyards as evidenced by a document of 1404. which, symbolically, establishes the beginning of Vignamaggio wine.

Today, Vignamaggio is an international organic company that in 2014 embarked on an ambitious restoration project, which includes, above all, the cellars.
