Wine: El Sagal de Collbaix Negre
Varietal: 90% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc.
Denomination: D.O. Pla de Bages.
Alcohol content: 13% vol.
Serving temperature: 16°-18°C.
Limpid, with an intense, almost impenetrable, consistent ruby red colour.
The nose is broad, complex, with a bouquet of intense and good quality aromas. Scents of moderately dried red flowers emerge, followed by notes of ripe fruit with dark red pulp: blackberry, cassis, hard cherry and currant. The range of perfumes is completed by: notes of Mediterranean scrub, where myrtle prevails, and hints of balsamic herbs at the end.
The sip is important, with well-balanced tannins. Overall a balanced wine with an excellent persistence of aromatic taste of ripe fruit and balsamic nuances.
A pleasant discovery, a wine for demanding tasters with an intriguing blend of grapes.
