Monte Cervo 2020 – Tenuta Maddalena

Monte Cervo 2020 - Tenuta Maddalena
Written by Piero Pardini

Wine: Monte Cervo
Variety composition: 100% Merlot.
Denomination: Alto Mincio I.G.P..
Alcoholic strength: 13,5% vol.
Vintage: 2020.
Serving temperature: 16° – 18° C.

Tasting Notes
Limpid, with an intense ruby red color with purplish hints, of good consistency.
The sequence of perfumes is wide, of good quality and intense. It opens with hints of small red berry fruit reminiscent of blueberries, currants and wild strawberries, followed by spicy notes of freshly ground black pepper and licorice root, completing the olfactory range with delicate balsamic notes of scrub herbs mediterranean.
The sip is decisive, with a good overall smooth tannic texture. The finish is quite persistent, with an aftertaste of ripe fruit and balsamic nuances.
A wine that lends itself to ageing, where with further refinement in the bottle it will be able to express its harmony.
Tried it with a mixed grill of meat.
